Just a quick note about this site. The idea is to create a discussion area for all things food and drink, like a friendly neighborhood pub. And like your local pub, I expect some lively discourse from time to time on any manner of topics. Please feel free to comment on any of the posts, they are open to all. If the comments get too abusive or derogatory, however, I will have to put my bouncer shirt on. There is also an events page. Currently this is just covering Seattle, but I plan to expand it soon.
The site will also contain “Gregor’s Pub” recipes. These are dishes that I make and would be proud serving at a real Gregor’s Pub. If you’ll notice, they do not follow standard recipe notation. I learned to cook by watching and listening to the chefs I worked under, as well as my family, not by books. I firmly believe that cooking is akin to free form art. Personally, I would rather create the occasional flop, than play it safe by “painting by numbers.”
We will also cover restaurant and pub reviews here. At first they will be just from around the Pacific Northwest area, but I hope to get some interested folks from all around to add their own reviews as well.
